I received this adapter today and the timing was perfect to test it out. I got a "playing error" error message that I can't remember popping up every few minutes while watching Hulu until now. I connected this device quickly and easily but still got the same error message. Not very promising, but I'll wait longer to see if there's a performance improvement before considering a return. Update August 25, 2018: I'm still having buffering issues and actually seem to be having more. Most likely I will disable this device. It's intuitively clear that a wired connection is more stable than Wi-Fi, but that doesn't seem to be the case to me.
