Review on Case Logic DCB 308 Camera Sling by Mdl Thurston

Revainrating 5 out of 5

We have a winner. in bags and cases

This wasn't the first camera bag I've bought. In fact, I started with another Case Logic strap with almost the same name: Case Logic SLRC-205 SLR Camera Sling (black). It was bad. If you want to read my full thoughts on this bag you can read my full review here but in short while I think the build quality was GREAT the design was a lot worse. There was almost no usable storage space in the bag, the only space available was a tiny compartment for the camera itself and a huge, oddly shaped, wide-open pocket that I didn't want my stuff dangling in. - or even worse - rubbed against each other. I returned this bag to Revain and rushed to purchase this model, the DCB-308, for an additional $6. NO MATTER. In fact, it's amazing that Case Logic makes these two cases. It's so well thought out that you honestly think it's a whole different company. First, the size of this bag is certainly larger than the others, but not much larger. It is still significantly smaller than a normal backpack. The second thing that struck me about him was his ability to stand up on his own. The bottom of the bag is hard and flat, and the camera sits on the floor, giving it a good, solid footing and allowing it to be stored in the most efficient, space-saving way (the other bag just collapsed in a disorganized place). bunch if you put it - not pretty). There's plenty of room in the camera bay with enough room for my 7D (it's a large camera) and a relatively large lens. The compartment is divided by a semi-rigid Velcro system. These baffles also separate the pouch from other access areas and provide a solid pouch shape. It doesn't look like a fabric-covered plastic box, but it doesn't look like just a bag either. It has a solid feel that inspires confidence that it will protect your gear and look good, but it also has a certain panache to remind you that it's actually a bag and won't hurt you. carry it with you At the very top of the bag is a zippered "door" for access to what I call the "trunk". This compartment is spacious, deep, has a solid bottom and begs to put all the little things in it: charger and spares, fans, cables, WiFi. This branch is just USEFUL. And it's ideally located. There's a nice firm handle just above the trunk to carry the bag when you're not slinging it over your shoulder. Other pockets include a layered front flap big enough for an iPad (for size reference - I doubt I'll carry mine there) with multiple pockets, flaps, zipped compartments, etc. and a small pocket for a lens cap (clearly for that purpose only definitely). If you're a pro with a lot of lenses that you need to carry everywhere, this probably still doesn't work for you and you need to travel with a full backpack or other bag. But if like me you're carrying your camera around with a lens attached and 2-3 other lenses and want a handy place to store all your camera accessories, I don't know if I can design a better bag. i am so satisfied -- And as someone who's returned in search of another bag, rest assured I'm not the type to "love everything I have because I want to prove to myself it's a good one." Decision was" folks. This bag really is that good. A final note on comfort: it's a little firmer in the back, which isn't a bad thing. Also, the second strap on this one seems to be more elaborate than the other. On another bag, the secondary strap was a strap and was too short for many people. It also contributed little/nothing to the relief. On this bag, the additional strap runs under the left arm and attaches to the main strap just below the collarbone. It does two things VERY well: It fixes the bag to your body to the point where it almost feels like a seat belt. It's very secure, yet convenient. Second and last, it gently pulls the main strap away from the neck/collarbone and eliminates chafing. I have no doubts that I will only use it for this function. Shoulder bags use the area between the shoulder and neck as a stop to keep them in place. Sometimes, after a little wear, it can seem like you have a bag around your neck. This bag offers relief in a way no other bag ever could. When deciding between this bag and the SLRC-205, the choice is clear. And now the most unpleasant thing: the main factor in choosing another bag was appearance. How stupid is that? Well, it turns out the photos don't do this bag justice. It's really very nice in person.
