As much as I like the sound quality of open-back headphones, they don't offer noise isolation and let sound through. Sometimes I need the noise isolation and complete privacy that closed-back headphones offer. I searched for all closed headphone models in the price range under $150 such as JVC HARX 700, Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro, Brainwavz HM5, Edifier H840 and H850, Audio Technica M40X, Mackie MC-150 and MC-250, Sony. MDR 7506 and Sennheiser HD 280 Pro. I ended up going with the Sennheiser HD 280 Pro until I saw the reviews of the Koss Pro4S and found out that they come with a lifetime guarantee, which is a big deal considering I rarely spend that much money on headphones. So I bought Pro4S and still enjoy them. Do they have the most powerful and deepest bass in the world? no Do they have tons of high-frequency brilliance and shimmering detail? no They have a neutral sound profile, with neither bass nor mids nor treble exaggerated or understated. While you might think that this makes the sound dull and only suitable for studio use, that's not the case with these headphones. They are slightly warmer than neutral and have a musical sound. The only real peak is around 3kHz, which is noticeable but doesn't detract from the sound quality. You can eliminate this peak with an equalizer if it bothers you. It's a different kind of sound than the cheaper open Koss models like the KPH30i that I also own, shown in one of the photos above with the Pro4S. When it comes to music, almost all genres sound great. on these headphones. From classical to jazz, from rock to contemporary pop, these headphones have proven themselves. I've listened to Bach, The Doors, Neil Diamond, Demi Lovato, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, various John Williams soundtracks like Jurassic Park soundtrack, various anime soundtracks and more. The details are well done but the MP3 doesn't sound harsh or terrible. I've also watched various movies, series and anime with these headphones and they sound fantastic. Dialogues are clear, sound effects and music sound great. These headphones are designed to reproduce source material without colorizing the sound, and they do a great job of it while sounding great. In terms of comfort, I wear them for hours without any pain or discomfort whether I wear glasses or not. or not. I'm sure the D-shaped ear pads add to the comfort. The soundproofing is decent and you can switch off music from the outside world at a moderate volume. Of course, they won't come close to the level of noise-cancelling headphones in terms of sound isolation. The soundstage is decent for closed headphones, but the picture is really good. By listening to several binaural ASMR videos, I was able to pinpoint where the sounds were coming from. The soundstage itself isn't quite as wide as open-back headphones, but it's the best soundstage I've heard in a pair of closed-back headphones. Detachable cable and you can connect the cable on both sides and the other side acts as an audio output where you can connect another pair of headphones. until the 1960s The second model in the Pro4 range, the Pro4AA, is still in production alongside the Pro4S. Since I don't have this model, I can't compare it. All in all I love these headphones. They do a relatively good job at what I use them for. I highly recommend them if you want comfortable headphones with decent sound quality, a detachable cable and a lifetime guarantee.
