This device isn't working properly

This has problems connecting USB C (dp) to a Dell Inspiron 13-7378. I have three 27" Samsung monitors. One connects to the HDMI port on the Dell. The other two connect to this splitter via HDMI. The computer works with 4 monitors, however I had to set each external monitor to 59Hz before the two connected to this unit worked. The 59hz solution I found by accident and not on the advice of Startech. Before that the connected monitors were on.These units worked for about an hour and then turned off (turning off and on) about every 90 seconds turn it back on). , I'm not sure what's wrong, but it's very annoying. This didn't happen when I removed the Startech splitter and was just using a built-in HDMI monitor and laptop display. Technical support from Startech replaced the unit at their expense as the original didn't work but that was before I set the monitors to 59hz.Since the replacement and adjustment of the monitors to 59 Hz the monitors do not flicker, however Intel Graphics HD reconfigures the DP topology.

Pros
  • CONVENIENT: With an integrated 1-foot cable, this bus-powered 2-port MST hub provides an easy way to connect up to two independent displays to any Windows DisplayPort host device via USB Type-C
Cons
  • Legacy Model
