I use WorkSharp to initially sharpen the cutting tools I buy and refurbish. Once I've smoothed the back and the bevel is shaped to my liking, I go through all the fine grit to get an even and consistent finish on the mirror polished blade. This is the quickest, most consistent way I've found to get an initial sharpening that sets an edge profile so I can quickly touch up and re-edge my waterstones and get back to work. I built a mobile sharpening station for my small shop and have my WorkSharp firmly mounted on it with all the discs and accessories available in the drawer along with my angle grinder and space for my waterstones. After years of use and many refurbished planes and chisels, I finally need to replace the fine grit discs on my WorkSharp discs. I was pleasantly surprised at how long the original set of discs lasted. I use the eraser that comes with WorkSharp to keep the drives clean every time I use one of the drives, so I think it definitely helped extend their lifespan.
