This thing almost sent my husband to the hospital. Our dog knows cat blankets and knows to stay away from them. I bought this to put in front of the shoe rack where she likes to get "toys". She saw he was there and didn't touch him. My husband had to move. He assumed he was gone because, as I said above, his mere presence was enough to scare the dog away. He reached down to pick it up and it shook him violently. An hour later, he was still shaking, his muscles wouldn't relax, and his fingertips were burned. He had heart problems that needed to be addressed with defibrillation, so being electrocuted like this could be very serious. He is 6'1" tall and weighs 190 pounds. If the shock had affected him that way, what would he have done to my 60 pound 10 month old poodle? Or my daughter? I'm stuck with this little stun gun. We took out the batteries (carefully!) and just left them on the floor. The dog hasn't touched it yet. Don't waste money!
