The mouse tray is almost useless. The mouse tray will flex and will not prevent the mouse from falling if any hand weight is applied to the tray. If your laptop screen uses a mount like a picture frame, the top is too small. If friction is holding your laptop screen in place, you're good to go. I ended up expanding the top compartment to utilize my surface which has a screen stand on the back. In general it works.
