Headache installing but great printer

Overall I like this printer although the installation instructions were poor and the installation involved too many steps. It can be significantly easier to install and configure. In the box you will find a printer, a power adapter, a power cord, a USB cable, some stickers and a USB stick. All drivers (for Mac and Windows) and the user manual are included on the USB stick. The manual MUST be printed. There is no excuse for bothering a customer for pennies. There are also several instructional videos on the flash drive. I didn't play the Mac video, but the Windows video went through the instructions too quickly and wasn't entirely accurate. There are just too many steps here to properly explain the installation process. Just be prepared as you follow the video to use common sense to correct some of the steps. For example, at some point you leave "Print to file" selected when you actually want the printouts to be sent to the printer via the USB port. The printer will beep continuously when it runs out of labels. Not just a few beeps and blinks, but an annoying high-pitched BEEEEEEP that will drive you crazy in no time. You either load it up quickly with more labels or turn it off when it's off. There were no instructions on how to load labels, I had to figure it out myself, but it was easy enough. Basically, if you know what you're doing, you can set it up with little headache. If you don't know what you're doing, this can be a nightmare. Get someone who has experience setting up printers to help you. Bake them cakes in advance to reward them when they're done, they can be cranky. Once set up properly, it's easy to use and prints great labels. He also appeared to be operating labels in turn. While it prints well 4x6 portrait labels for UPS packages, which is what I need it for, I'm sure there are many other useful uses for this printer. Print great thermal labels quickly and easily. It seems well made and durable. The only thing I complain about is the terrible setup, more complicated than necessary and not for beginners. I'm only deducting a star for the facility.
