First let me say that it works well enough for me, but it's poor quality and you get what you pay for here. I use this with my 2012 CTS Wagon. The key that comes with it is junk. It's the wrong billet and soft aluminum. Since I use it as a second key, I simply had a standard door key cut out and put it on the ring. Lock and unlock work perfectly. The car starts fine. It will NOT open the tailgate. The headlights flash, but the tailgate does not open or close when open. However, you can hit the rubber seal on the sunroof and it will open. Just not with a button. The other problem I have is when I get out of the car the car says "smart key not found" but I can get in with no problems and so on. Changed battery, no problem. As a backup key, this worked for me, but I'll probably try to find a cheap OEM key fob dealer if my primary key dies.
