The Lenovo Legion 5 15 gaming laptop is the latest in a line of popular gaming laptops, and with good reason. a balance of size, build quality and performance This particular version of the Legion 5 15 is equipped with an AMD Ryzen 7 5800H, Nvidia 3050 Ti 4GB processor, 1080p 165Hz screen, 16GB RAM and a 512GB NVME SSD. The Lenovo Legion is pretty good with no noticeable flex in the case. The keyboard seems pretty standard for a laptop keyboard, so not much to complain about (unless you're a keyboard snob.) This version of Legion 15 comes with a 4-zone RGB keyboard (for a nice FPS boost). If you are familiar with the previous version of Legion 5, then this is essentially the same laptop, only with Ryzen 7 5800H, 3050 TI and slightly smaller. Power adapter. Most of the ports are on the back k (3x USB A, USB C, HDMI, Ethernet, power) with some left (USB C and headphones) and right (USB A), and you have vents on the back and spines on both Pages. Those vents are huge to keep everything cool. The fans get quite noisy under load, but this is an issue on most gaming laptops. It gets warm too - the keyboard is fine, but I'm not sure you'll want it on your lap. It does have the latest USB-C 3.2, but no Thunderbolt (but that's a problem with most AMD laptops). In terms of gaming performance, the 3050 TI performs surprisingly well with this Ryzen 7 5800H, despite the processor outperforming the 3050 TI. It gets an overall score in 3D Mark Time Spy of 5860, graphics 5504 and a CPU of 9261. In Cinebench it scores 1381 for single-core and 11256 for multi-core, which is great for a laptop processor. He was able to run Shadow of the Tomb Raider at an average of 80 FPS on high presets at 1080p. You can completely change the settings and get a higher FPS if you want, and with a 165Hz screen you'll want to take advantage of that. Userbenchmark gives this processor a score of 91.9%, a hard drive score of 317% and a memory score of 67.5%; I had trouble getting it to work with an Nvidia card. Speaking of the screen, it looks very good. The backlight spreads out a bit and the color quality and brightness are great for a gaming laptop. The speakers are ok, but you still need headphones. Battery life isn't great - I didn't run out of battery but I'd say expect maybe 5 hours of regular stuff and maybe 1-1.5 hours of gaming. However, this is fairly common in gaming laptops. PROS👍Good build quality👍CPU is a beast👍Screen is very nice👍GPU can play most modern games👍Good RAM and storage configuration for the price👍Good weight for a gaming laptop👍Price AGAINST👎Noisy fans under load👎Poor battery lifeFor At around $1,050 at the time of writing, you'd be hard pressed to find a better deal on a gaming laptop with similar specs. You can always pay more for better performance, but if that's your price and you want to play newer games on the go, that's what matters most.
