Overall this is a great set for $16. It has most of the tools needed to maintain a small aquarium with live plants. If you have a deep tank (deeper than 8 inches) you will need longer tools or you will dip your hand in them when going down. Pros: Two long tweezers are invaluable for positioning plants and digging in roots. The nice thing is that it includes both angled and straight tweezers. The "Substrate Spatula" has actually proved very useful for positioning the coarse sand on the bottom of my aquarium. removed they seem to cut well. The Bad: - The tweezers don't open very far on their own, less than half an inch, so you have to pry them open further to grab something of that size, which ended up being a lot more annoying than I intended. The angled tweezers do not close tightly, there is a gap at the tip. If you apply additional pressure beyond what is required to simply close the angled tweezers, the tip will spread and drop any small object you were trying to grab. (see photo) - The scissors, due to the friction of the two coated metal halves, make a horrible noise when opening or closing that sends goosebumps down my spine, hoping that it will go away with use.
