I returned it almost dead on arrival - either all or half of the LEDs weren't working. But then I tested again. It will not work in the center-to-end direction of a long (100+ feet) garden wire where the voltage will drop below 12V due to a voltage drop due to distance from the transformer. (I have good wire - 12 gauge, not 16 or even 14). It works great closer to the transformer before there is a voltage drop due to the length of the landscape lighting cable. That's not the case with my other flashlights - they work fine even at the end of the cord. Maybe they're a little less bright than they could be closer to the transformer, but they still work quite well. I think it needs 12V and not a drop less. Just something to note.
