Using this thermal paste on an i9-9900k with a Corsair AIO 240mm cooler. My first attempt with a different thermal paste was disappointing. So I decided to give MasterGel Maker a try as the reviews for it were decent. The applicator is interesting and the instructions say to apply it to the CPU in streaks like a sealant. It seemed like you were using a lot of compound compared to the traditional amount of rice grains / small pea sized amounts, but I did. I made three strips on the CPU and used a plastic spatula to spread them out to completely cover the CPU. It looked like too much thermal paste. It's also very thick (again, like a sealant). However, I connected the CPU cooler and turned on the machine. In fact, the results were very, very good. The idle temperature dropped by a few degrees and the load temperature significantly. I have a slight overclock (5.0 GHz on all cores) and with a typical gaming load the temperature never exceeds 70 degrees and around 27-29 degrees when idle. At full load, the temperature climbs to the mid 80s, but I don't experience any throttling. This stuff works fine, better than MX4, AS5 or TF8. IMHO on the same level as Cryonaut.
