Review on DMI Raised Toilet Seat with Seat Cushion and Toilet Seat Cover - 2 Inch Pad, White by Pogo Shakey

Revainrating 2 out of 5

As with most things, there are some good and some bad.

For all the people complaining that it doesn't lift you 2 inches, YOU MUST READ THE DESCRIPTION. THIS IS A PILLOW. BUY A STAND. It's a pillow and it does. It senses the pinpoint pressure of a hard bone on a hard surface and redistributes it easily. I wish I had gone for the 4 inch version for more cushioning. For reasons too personal to describe here, I also had to go up about half an inch. I'm pretty much the same, and I weigh almost 300 pounds. I have two main complaints: 1. At first the center hole seemed small in the photos and in fact it is even smaller than it looks. They shouldn't have tried to make the sides wide enough to fit anywhere on any size toilet bowl, but made the hole bigger to more comfortably fit most toilet bowls. Excess hanging over the edges of the seat only gets in the way. With a little more creativity and work, a two-piece cushion, hinged at the back to accommodate the seat and made with the same side width as most seats, would be more flexible and functional.2. Second, the velcro straps don't attach well to the seat. They won't last long. I've had some experience attaching them to a different type of seat cushion and a few stitches down the middle just don't match. You are not holding the seat tight enough and the movement of the seat will start to pull the thread through the vinyl and tear the stitching or both. Since I'm stuck with this I'll add some vinyl glue underneath and hopefully they'll last a little longer.

Pros
  • Note. This toilet seat should not be used as an aid or stand to facilitate toilet lifting. It should be used to ensure softness and comfort when sitting.
Cons
  • Negative moment present
