Just kidding about the torture.If you get the occasional blemish or clogged pore that you just have to pick at, these tools are made to clean your skin with a minimum of trauma. Squeezing pimples with your hands is a good way to drive bacteria into the skin and spread it around. Don't do it! These stainless steel implements are made to gently coax dirt and oil from pores. Pain is minimal compared to squeezing.I am not sure why the star rating asked about suction power. There is not really any suction involved. Some of the gadgets have a metal ring that can be pressed gently into skin around a blemish, to force the dirt and oil to pop out. I don't think that counts as suction.Please note that you should clean these items in order to avoid infection. I wipe them down with rubbing alcohol. I have heard of people running them through the dishwasher, but that just seems icky to me.There are some very pointy bits that could really do some damage if you are not extremely careful with them. I would be cautious about giving these parts to a teenager, as they can be so self-critical and impulsive, and could end up scarring their face. I'm serious. I can imagine someone gouging their face in a moment of despair or anger.This kit gives you a hygenic way to combat minor acne. I don't recommend it for cystic acne or significant breakouts.
