Amazing pot but strange taste on some foods especially coffee.

Well made mug. Thin and light, it heats water much faster than steel. I LOVE the lid. The whole product is very durable. The only problem is that titanium changes the taste of many foods, especially coffee. This makes the coffee taste very strange. I haven't decided for sure yet, but maybe that's why I'm going back to the Steel Cup. I would like to try an internally polished titanium shell. There seemed to be a difference in flavor with a long spoonful of titanium handled Toaks which doesn't seem to have any flavor at all. The pot is the perfect height and fits perfectly in a standard Nalgene bottle. The pot would be perfect if it wasn't for the coffee flavor and a few other things. It is great for heating water for food in a mountain home. It doesn't seem to affect their taste at all. Edit: I've been using the cup for quite some time now and no longer notice any taste. I don't know what caused this, but it only seems to be an issue when new. It's now one of my favorite pieces of gear because it's so versatile and lightweight. I have it in a Condor H2O case with a pocket, and in my pocket I have a lighter and a cap. A bottle of Nalgeen is enclosed in a mug. If I had to go ultralight, I could just pull this bag out of my gear and run away with it and a knife. This is the best food mug I've ever seen.
