Fits snugly on my external dryer vent cover (1998 design). This cover is attached from the outside with four screws and the plastic edge goes into the exhaust pipe. Plastic shutters wear out over time and need to be replaced every 10 years. Ironically, this *doesn't* match a similarly sized bathroom exhaust vent in the same house. This bath hood has an outer frame of the same size, but is closed with flaps of different sizes. I suspect it could be a vent cap with a pipe fitting attached, intended to connect to a flexible exhaust hose (rather than attaching a rigid pipe like this cap). This cover will not work in this situation. If you are replacing a bathroom hood, consider this possibility. My local big box didn't have this part, so it was nice to find it here cheaply. highlighted.
