Great TOSLINK sound at a price

I got it a long time ago Purchased Blue Riger Cable from Amazon. It worked for a long time (and still works). Then I upgrade my PC and it comes with a better sound card that supports 24 bits at 192 kHz (maybe even 32, but it's not necessary from what I've heard). My sound equipment is fantastic: Audioengine A5+, S8 subwoofer and D1 DAC. As soon as I plugged in my new mobo, I found that my TOSLINK Blue Rigger could not transfer data over 24 bits at 96kHz; basically on the same frequency as the USB connection for D1. That's where this cable comes in. After some Googling and reading audiophiles, I realized I needed to upgrade the cables. I got myself a higher quality cinch and finally replaced the TOSLINK with this cable. Pros: I can get full 24-bit spec at 192kHz with my Asus Mobo Realtek Audio sound card connected to my Audioengine speakers via D1 DAC. The cable matches the price. There were others for much more. I don't think it's worth it; at least in my ears. Others may have different opinions, but when it comes to sound it's very subjective, so to each his own. I have read the questions and answers on this product and others have replied that it can run at full frequency up to 192kHz. I can add to that and say; Yes, maybe with my equipment. Cons: nothing yet; Overall I'm happy with the purchase and the sound I can get with this cable for the price. PS A guarantee card with instructions in German and English (LOL) is included. It's made in China, but who cares if it works.

Pros
  • Top Quality Digital Audio Cables: Optical cables have a precision engineered, fully flexible PVC jacket for the highest quality, most durable optical cables available
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
