Excellent filter. The steel tanks are strong and the filter actually cleans the water better than any other system I've used. But initially I had major problems with the rubber smell (as did many other reviewers). The problem is the rubber plug and washers that come with the system. Your best bet is to throw them away and buy silicone washers (just search online - you can't find them in hardware stores). I also only have 4 charcoal filters instead of 2 (eliminating the need for rubber plugs) - more expensive but worth it (also it fills the tank a lot quicker). I also got a stainless steel spigot from Berkey - well worth it (it comes with silicone washers). I really have no idea why they put those smelly rubber stoppers in the system! Filling the filters and cleaning the system is not a problem - there are several videos on YouTube. After the first month of trying everything was perfect!
