Works well! for car electronics

I bought this reversing camera about 6 months ago and have been using it ever since. I didn't need a wireless camera because I was concerned that sometimes I wouldn't be able to see the rear camera image due to interference. Also, the extra work of installing a wired camera didn't bother me as I had previously disassembled most of my machine. Installation was relatively easy. The camera can be installed in two ways. The first is the hole you drill in the bumper or trunk lid (the hole is exactly the diameter of the camera). The second method involves a bracket that can be attached to the car. I chose the second way. I attached a bracket to the plastic piece on the trunk lid that hangs over the license plate (2009 Toyota Corolla) and routed the wires through the holes that the license plate light wires go through. This allowed me to mount the camera without making holes in the metal (I was afraid the bodywork might rust). I cut the wires to the car's reverse lights and connected the wires to power the camera and screen (so both only turn on when reverse gear is engaged). This solution required an extra wire so I could run the power wire from the car's reversing lights to the dashboard where the screen was mounted (on the other hand, the benefit was that I only had to cut the car's wiring at one point, rather than after a power source for the camera and another power source for the screen). I got an extra wire from Lowe where you can buy cheap wire on foot. When I shift into reverse, both the camera and screen turn on very quickly and there is very little lag. I attached the screen to the dashboard with velcro (the screen is very light so no problem). The video cable uses a simple RCA connection on both ends. I had no problem getting enough video cords, but it would be easy to add an extension cord as it uses standard connectors. I was able to position the camera so that the car's rear bumper was only visible at the edge of the frame. This allows me to see exactly how far I am from objects behind the car. In most cases, the camera and screen make the picture clear enough to see what's behind the car (day or night). On very sunny days it can sometimes be difficult to see what's behind the car when the sun hits the camera at the right angle. But that only happens occasionally, I agree. The only complaint I have about the camera relates to the screen. The screen is attached to a plastic base with a ball joint. This ball joint was originally very stiff, but has weakened. Now that the ball joint is released, the screen will not stay in the same position. That wasn't a big problem for me, since the screen is almost always clearly visible. I wish the base for the screen was done better (there was a better way to fix the screen's position and orientation).
