. The battery is charged directly in the device via a microbus cable (included in delivery). It's really great if you have one of the backpack solar chargers (or backup generator with tire plugs) like me. I bought extra batteries and an AC charger to have on hand. I've been listening to the radio all day to see how long a fully charged battery lasts and will update this review when I'm sure. The audio is clear and picks up AM/FM well in my office near my computer and other electronics. I receive two weather channels. One channel was grainy (but readable) indoors but clean outside. The other was clean even indoors and was received with the antenna down. Transmission power must be available. I think it was a great deal and perfect for my needs.
