Review on 🏍️ Kuryakyn 4466 SwingWing Cruise Pegs: Chrome Footpegs for 2010-19 Harley-Davidson Motorcycles by James Daniels

GREAT DRIVING POSITION!

I had this 2 months before I decided to read and install Destructions. Make sure you have an adapter for your make and model that fits between the footpegs and your bike. Call Kuryakin to confirm part number. I have a 2012 Yamaha Raider S. The stock footpegs feel and look good, but as soon as I engage 5th gear I feel the need to reposition my legs to rest my inner and upper muscles. On clothespins I turned my boots inside out to create a V pattern. In this position I had almost no contact with the pins. They felt good, but I was concerned that a good kick might snap my boots off the pins. I've looked at a few footpegs, and Kuryakyn SwingWing footpegs seem to have the most options: they come in chrome and black with plush padding, and Kuryakyn seems to be (mostly) a reliable aftermarket supplier for Harley Davidson, and they also make metric parts (like mine. Raider). and adapters. After tightening them, I was unable to reuse the Raider stock spring, causing the stock pins to return to the down position, but gravity seems to hold them in the correct position. Even with the four metal spacers included, they seem to have a lot of play, but when booted they don't seem to budge. After my first ride with them today I may have to lower the angle because my boot barely fits under the shift equalizer. Once I can set the angle and confirm after the next ride I apply some blue Loctite to the main hex bolt to keep it from backing up and the pins from vibrating. I would have preferred the main triangle to be more square so you have almost half a floorboard and when you close the outer wing it doesn't have a triangular opening in the closed position but it looks ok. You have an almost unlimited number of driving positions! I hold my boots in the starting position until I put 5th gear in then I do a regular V shape with my boots, except now my boots have almost 50% of the bottom of the boots in contact with the pins because the pins in the external position do the same. the form in which I like to ride. Then, on long runs, I rest the bottom of my boots on the outside of the fender to be in full lean mode. In this position, my legs are 100% straight, just like on the chair in my living room. I would 100% recommend them for a variety of riding positions. They're about $148 a pair and seem to have some play (maybe I'll add some shims to make them stiffer), but they seem to look good and do their job.

Pros
  • Cool
Cons
  • Almost everything is ok
