There was a pair of old Sorel boots in good condition but the D-rings were rusty. These rings were the perfect replacement. Nice color, 3/4 inch fits the old rings and the extra thickness of these rings gives extra strength to the laces. The secret to opening these rings is to insert pliers into the center of the ring and pull on the pliers. handles apart. This is a lot easier than trying to grab the ring with two pairs of pliers and pulling the ring in different directions. To close it again, grasp the outside of the ring with a pair of pliers and press together.
