Significantly improved quality of my VR experience

If you've ever used an Oculus Quest with the original headband, you've probably noticed that it really digs into the back of your head. In fact, many people complain of headaches and pain after just 30 minutes of using Oculus. With the original headband, I found that the amount of tension required to keep the Oculus from slipping gave me a print headache almost immediately. (Because I wear glasses, I have to hold my Oculus very still so the glasses don't warp while playing.) The bandage fit my head snugly, and the lower portion of the halo rested perfectly on my occipital knot (the spot just below the bend at the back of my head). This slight change in the position of the straps allowed the Oculus to more naturally distribute the weight around my entire head, meaning the straps didn't have to be as tight to keep the device from slipping. Installation wasn't that easy. The instructions that came with the Esimen headband were very vague on how to remove the original Oculus straps and it took me a while to search YouTube to figure it out. As it turns out, the removal process is actually very simple, it just takes some effort to slide the straps in or out of the metal loops that hold them in place. In fact, once the original strap was removed, installing the new Esimen Halo was a breeze! The plastic clips on the front of the headband slip easily over the metal loops used in the original elastic and attach to the headset without screws or threads on the elastic (the top strap still needs to be threaded into the frame). but it's not nearly as hard as the elastic side bands (original headband). The Halo's plastic shell is a skin-friendly, soft-touch plastic, and the rubber strap feels durable and premium. However, the ability to adapt quickly was a real MVP. With the original Oculus Quest headbands, I had to adjust the Velcro every time I put the headset on, and even occasionally during a VR session when I was particularly athletic. In contrast, Esimen's adjustable headgear adjustment knob easily keeps the straps in the correct position. If it ever felt too tight or too loose, I could quickly reach out and turn the click wheel one way or the other, a movement so simple it was easily accomplished without removing the headset. Unfortunately, there is one issue they haven't addressed. the volume of the control knob is not solved. The laptop makes a somewhat loud click when spinning, which is reflected in the halo's hard plastic shell. While the noise wasn't deafening, it was definitely loud enough to ruin the immersive experience if I had to make adjustments. This problem is compounded by another significant drawback of this design: removing the headset requires loosening the halo (especially if you wear glasses). the convenience of tightening the straps. However, they can't extend far enough to easily go over glasses (or a strong forehead), meaning I had to loosen the adjustment knob every time I needed to take the headset off. Due to the ease of adjustment, this wasn't a major problem (in fact, it very quickly became an almost automatic requirement), but it does compound the rattling noise problem created by the adjustment knob. Benefits: - SIGNIFICANTLY increases the wearing comfort of the headset. - Allows you to extend gaming time by reducing headaches and muscle fatigue. - Quick adjustment allows for easy and natural on/off of the headset during gameplay. - Makes it easy to share the headset without having to drop the Velcro. Cons: - The installation guide doesn't clearly explain how to remove the original Oculus straps. - Does not fold, making it difficult to put the Oculus in your travel bag. - The button is loud. - Impossible to remove the headset without weakening the halo. Overall, I highly recommend this product!
