I have raynaud's and therefore my feet and hands easily get cold. I tried quite a few pairs of slippers, even some smaller men's. Many had a lot of the foam cushioning, but not much support or were too flimsy, so I had to return them. I think I am allergic to that foam as it seems to make my feet hurt after a while. I have a wide foot size 9 1/2 and got the 9-10, which fits wonderfully well. The heals are not loose even without socks and the toe box is wide enough for me so my does don't cramp . They also seem to be well made and the sole is solid in construction making for firm footing. I have used them for several weeks now. Every time I put them on, my feet thank me. These slippers are comfortable as they are, but in addition I ended up wearing these with wool/felt insoles in them. I can wear them without the insoles, but in the cold cold weather I need the inserts. my floor gets very cold as I live in New England. And these slippers are flexible enough to accommodate them. They are the best slippers I've ever worn and I would definitely buy them again.
