This is a nice soft material. Doesn't look like cotton. I've read that bed bugs are attracted to polyester and cotton. When I ordered a different poly/cotton fabric, to my surprise the zipper area was actually full of bugs. I didn't have that with it. I still have work to do to get rid of the bugs, but I've had little trouble with the bugs that have accumulated around the zipper. I checked my mattress every few days and caught any bugs. I bought a beetle shell around each of the legs. It helped to fix the bugs. After closing the mattress and spring block, I couldn't understand where they came from. Finally, I read on Amazon that bugs can live in a bed frame. When I replaced the frame it was like magic - no more errors.
