Looks good in Escape 2006

I put it in my 06 Escape. It's not listed for compliance, but it works with no modifications, in fact it says it doesn't fit Escape 2006. I had to drill a small hole in the back of the radio to install a rail for the bottom of the radio. Fits like a glove in this car's custom sized Ford hole. Installation requires moving the central panel of the instrument. You don't have to remove the center console, it slides back far enough for the main unit to slide in. Simply place the head unit upside down on the dashboard, connect all the cables, and then slide it into the center rail. There is no need to use the screws on the front of the kit, just leave the slots free. The center plate fits snugly into these lugs after installation and holds the device very firmly in the hole. It is best to remove the screw slots on the front side mounts to keep the midframe loose. Leaving them untouched can lead to binding and a misfit. like some kits. Just an additional note, even the cars or trucks this is intended for may require minor modifications. I recommend taping tape over the bottom hole of the dash under the center console to protect the hole from being damaged by the bottom tabs on the center console when installing the head unit into the hole. After wiring and wiring for all options, it only takes about 5 minutes to remove the center console, connect the cables, install the head unit in the dash, and reinstall the center console. . It is very easy to remove the main unit to make future additions. My total install times are: wiring to the backup camera, wiring under the sills, wiring the microphone to the driver's visor, wiring the antenna for the GPS and traffic receiver, installing the AVIC 250 navigation module under the dash, routing the USB cable to the center side plank , all cables are connected by lightning and not visible, it took a good 8 hours. Another note: I have experience installing in-dash audio hardware, so your time may vary. I rate this as medium to easy difficulty, almost anyone can do it. I am very pleased with the matching finish and appearance of this dash kit and would highly recommend the kit for the 2006 Ford Escape. The AVHX-5600BHS DVD receiver is used.
