Works as intended for radio accessories

I bought it with ASIN B07N77N5YX as it was recommended to buy it with stereo for my 2004 Ford Expedition. This was the perfect solution, but I removed the sprocket because it didn't come with screws to attach the side bracket. Luckily I had a couple of screws suitable for attaching the sides. However, a good future addition would be to include screws not only on the side, but also with two attachment points on the front. I would give 5 stars for that.

Pros
  • Specially designed for 2DIN radios
Cons
  • Very expensive

Looks great in Mustang Dashboard 01. Fits perfectly

I used this to install an Android device in my wife's Mustang. It fits perfectly in the dashboard and looks very nice. I had to alter it a bit, but through no fault of the dash kit, the head unit was an odd size and didn't want to fit well again. Head unit error, no dashboard kit. I have to say that even after removing the material to make it thinner to fit the device, it still held up strong and looked good on the dash. Highly recommended.

Never worked

Bought for my son's car. This is a 2002 Ford Explorer sports car. The instructions for this kit explain assembly and installation for the 2002 Explorer, but the mounting tabs do not match anything and the kit will not fit in the double din hole in the dash after the stock radio is removed. Luckily the double din stereo I bought had a front panel. I had to cut about 1/8" off the stock dash bezel to mount the radio, but the included radio bezel saved the day. This set went in the trash. Glad it's

Good product, average material quality. Worth Buying

Bottom line, it worked. I bought this to install a Pioneer AVH-X3800BHS in my 2003 Ford Explorer. Everything is fine except for the bracket that is attached to the back of the radio. The hole for the radio mount was too high for the mount to slide over the rail in my car. Not that big of a problem, the radio was still very stable. The finished results looked professional. I'm only taking off one star because the kit is all plastic. I was expecting the side mounts to be aluminum. The standard…

Worked with some modifications for a 2004 Ford Escape Limited

This worked on my 2004 Ford Escape Limited. We removed the bottom tabs. I had to remove the inside of the radio on the car. This is a 1/4 inch lip on the inside of the top and bottom of the hole. We left the parties alone. The back cracked when we tried to put it in, but the sides and bezel held it perfectly, placing it under the bezel and then putting the bezel back on. We installed a Sony wx900 bt and it's not a full 2 din case so the back isn't long enough and we didn't want to drill a new…

Pros
  • Specifically designed to accommodate a double din radio or two single din units (e.g. 1 radio and 1 equalizer or 1 video screen and 1 DVD player)
Cons
  • Ugly Packaging

Did not fully fit my aftermarket stereo but worked

This kit did not fit my inexpensive ($45) S8 7 inch stereo that I bought from Revain, so i think double din is not a full standard? I was only able to use the side panels included in the kit to install a stereo in my 2003 Ford Explorer (as I think someone else here mentioned) so it wasn't a total waste. It's not perfect, but it's not bad either. Also, the part that attaches to the back of the stereo to hook onto the bottom rail in the dash doesn't fit as the stereo has protruding RCA connectors

Pros
  • Includes an owner's manual and all required hardware parts
Cons
  • I will add later

Will NOT work for cheap Chinese double din devices!

I rated it 5 stars because the issue I was having was not related to this product. If I were to spend a lot of money on a branded head unit it would be fine and there was nothing wrong with the quality of the product. Please note that it does not include screws, just like my main unit. So it's a weird secondary headache. However, when I bought my eBay China Special, I knew it could be a headache to install. The dimensions are slightly larger than the standard double din, and the volume knob was

Revain tells me it fits my Sporttrac but it doesn't.

This is not a product quality issue, it is a compatibility issue I had with a 2002 Sport Trac. You see, Revane says "It fits!" when my Sporttrac is selected, but the first gen Sporttrac is actually almost the same as a 1996 Ford Explorer. Your dashboard and internal parts are perfectly interchangeable. This does not apply to 2002 Explorer and Sport. Automotive curiosity, of course. So I haven't tried installing this kit yet, but I suspect I won't be able to use it and its mounting holes since…

Looks good in Escape 2006

I put it in my 06 Escape. It's not listed for compliance, but it works with no modifications, in fact it says it doesn't fit Escape 2006. I had to drill a small hole in the back of the radio to install a rail for the bottom of the radio. Fits like a glove in this car's custom sized Ford hole. Installation requires moving the central panel of the instrument. You don't have to remove the center console, it slides back far enough for the main unit to slide in. Simply place the head unit upside…
