Review on Nikon 35mm f/1.8G Auto Focus Lens for Nikon DSLR Cameras - Black (Model 2183) by Cheong Yon ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The product is good, there are only a few minor flaws.

I have been using it for 3 years with the d5000. Satisfied with everything except that of all my lenses (4 pcs.), This one has the highest probability of missing focus. Sometimes it's very disappointing, especially given the unpredictability of a miss. As a result, each frame has to be checked immediately, which is not always possible. The situation for me is depressing even the terrible screen quality of my d5000 (due to low resolution). However, with its shortcomings, this is my favorite lens, it is more versatile than the 55-200 (portraits from which I like it as much), allows you to make cool half-length portraits with spectacular bokeh, and also shoot handheld where most other lenses tripod required.

Pros
  • Versatility (including handheld shooting in low light), price
Cons
  • Frequent miss focus; Lack of sharpness at f=1.8

After the whale lens, it's nice to open the aperture wider than 3.5)))
