Review on πŸ”Œ TYUMEN HD-CVI/TVI/AHD UTP Passive Video Balun with Power and RJ45 CAT5e/CAT6 Transmitter/Receiver (1 Pair) by Chris Hall

They work great with no complaints!

Reading some of the other reviews that have had no luck with this product, I have a feeling that some people don't necessarily understand what it is and isn't. So, here are some things to keep in mind if you are considering buying them for your CCTV system: 1. Despite the added Ethernet port, they DO NOT TURN YOUR ANALOG CAMERA INTO AN IP CAMERA OR POE CAMERA. It's just not what they are for.2. They allow you to use an Ethernet cable instead of a power cable and a BNC cable from your camera to your DVR/Monitor/NVR/etc3. They are used in pairs: one is a transmitter or transmitter and connects to your camera, the other is a receiver or receiver and connects to whatever you would otherwise connect your camera directly to. In my case it was a CCTV monitor. In this case, instead of connecting the 12V DC power supply directly to the monitor like I usually do, I connected the power supply to the Rx end of the video balun. This then powered both the monitor and the downstream camera at the Tx end of the video balun.5. This product is useful for those who run long cables for their analog cameras. It is a passive device that does not convert or change the analog signal to digital. BOTTOM LINE = Works like a charm ie plug and play! Yes, the devices are bulky, but they are cheap and provide a solution to bulky analog video surveillance system wiring. Hope this helps anyone who didn't understand its usage!
