I thought I needed them. I was dying to stash my string toys, especially behind the nightstand. I put two of them on the bedside table. Turns out I just didn't need to attach the cord to the table. It was more of a hassle to move around and a pain to remove. Luckily my desk has a glossy laminate finish so I was able to peel the adhesive off when I threw the thing away, but it was a real pain. It might be nice in a child's room or in the kitchen, it just turns out I was really didn't need it / didn't like it.
