I bought a couple of these and thankfully didn't have to wait long before assembling them. Was able to return them for a replacement. In fact, one of the cylindrical columns was cut at an angle, so the top plate slanted when assembled, which is totally unacceptable for speaker placement. Aside from the quality control issue. The build was a pretty simple play on words. The bottom plate is thick and heavy, so actually good. However, aluminum pillars "ring" like a bell when tapped, which isn't good. I think this can be remedied by applying a rubber coating to the interior walls, similar to preventing rust on the underside of cars. This coating helps dampen resonance. The coasters look good when assembled and feel solid. Update: So Revain sent a replacement for the original defective item and I received another defective item again. but this time it's a different defect. One of the silver aluminum rings that the columns fit into has a large dent which causes it to protrude beyond the round shape, which in turn prevents the cylindrical column from being installed. So now I'm waiting for the third replacement.
