The movers brought mold spores along with boxes and furniture that I left in the "air conditioner" that falsely advertised "air conditioner". It's not like this. There was no drainage system. This is how my beautiful furniture, clothes and other things arrived with mold spores, black mold to be precise, and Penicillium ascomycetes. This is how mold and mildew got into my new apartment, which was freshly painted and had newly laid carpeting. The movers staged a complete nightmare that lasted 2 years before I woke up to being terribly poisoned. I studied rehab and came TWICE with a professional rehabilitator. Then an ozone generator was used; rented a 500 cfm industrial scrubber from Home Depot; a professional shampoo company came to clean the upholstery; Carpets installed TWICE by another professional shampoo company; rented Bissell shampoo to clean the carpet; all continuously bleached, cleaned and washed; also included vinegar but still threw away most of my furniture and belongings. I then started buying anti mold sprays and using 3 different air devices (one UV, two ionic etc.). I've endlessly bought true HEPA filters and activated carbon filters that were expensive but had to be made. I'm now an expert on mold removal sprays and subjects that contain and kill mold spores and mildew. Concrobium doesn't work, just so you know. Ace Hardware recommended it and it does absolutely nothing. The RMR-141 Mold Killer doesn't work very well either. It has very little effect. Lemoncide (purchased from Revain) didn't work so I returned it. Melaleuca tea tree oil was a preventative, but manufacturers were surprised to learn that it didn't work against black mold. So they took it back and were really nice about it. By the way, there are MANY vendors promoting mold killing products, but almost nobody does. This was the only remediation product that successfully killed mold and mildew spores as well as mildew in my home. If I couldn't find it, I would have to replace all of the carpeting in my complex. So read these reviews because honestly people know everything! If this sporicidal disinfectant didn't work, I would have another trick up my sleeve that a professional restorer gave me. It's called "Shock Wave". However, this product doesn't have a bad smell, it smells like library paste that we used as kids to make pictures and cut outs in elementary school. I spray the carpet liberally and then insulate the room for about 24 hours. The next day it no longer smells of mold. I just vacuum the carpet every other day to suck up any remaining dead spores. Make sure your vacuum has a HEPA filter. That's it! Don't waste money on dozens of products. It really works and it's very, very powerful. You don't want to be around after spraying, so stay away from the fumes for at least 24 hours, if not longer. I open windows for ventilation, but do not use ceiling fans. You simply spread the mold and its spores throughout the environment. Simply spray and assemble. Much luck!
