I liked this item, I plugged it in to charge after opening it with the internal charge port still connected to the charger. Update on this product: The company contacted me to resolve my issues with their product and sent me another one to try and it works great. The product is beautifully designed, well lit at night and an added bonus is a rechargeable lighter attached to the lid. Because it's electric, you don't have to worry about wind issues like you would with a regular liquid flame lighter. Try this product, it is very pleasant.
