2000gx 0.01g Laboratory Balance

I have been using this balance for a little over a week. This is a much needed improvement over what I had before which was only measured to the gram (+/- 1 gram) and did not meet my needs at all. But this one is much better. I have allergies, asthma and blood sugar issues and I use certain foods to control them and I need very accurate measurements to adequately control them which this scale provides. that it can use a standard 9V battery when the power goes out. Some of the other scales I reviewed used non-standard batteries, including lithium-ion batteries, which I know can be prone to fire at times, which I didn't want to risk. I've never heard of a 9 volt battery starting a fire so figured it would be safer. Additionally, 9-volt batteries are readily available at most grocery stores, hardware stores, and many other stores, while the right type of lithium-ion battery can be hard to find. I turn on the scale, it tends to creep very slowly from 0.00 to 0.01, then to 0.02 and so on. I haven't turned it on in a while to see where it stops, but I suspect it's because the unit system isn't fully adapted to operate at higher temperatures. But it's slow enough that it hasn't bothered me so far. I was able to work around this as it didn't take me long to take measurements before significant changes occurred. Note that the scale creeps up even though I don't run the ceiling fan, which might interfere with the weighing. It only takes a few seconds to turn on the scale and it's ready to use. The display is bright and easy to read. When I first received the scale, the first thing I did after setting it up was put a calibration weight on the scale. First I put it in the middle of the scale. This gave me very consistent post-weighing results that rarely differed by 0.01g. I then started placing them at the outer corners of the scale. Then I discovered that the weight changes by up to 0.05 g. Since then I've been trying to make sure my weigh bucket is centered on the pan when weighing, which should solve this problem. Overall I think it worked out well.
