I use this scale a lot. It works consistently well. The accuracy is within the specified limits and the readings are reliable. The display has a very large output window and numbers, which is particularly important to me. I also appreciate the ability to plug them into the mains - many scales can only be used with batteries. The basic controls are intuitive, but there are special functions that won't be immediately obvious to use without carefully reading the manual, and like many modern products, the manual's font is EXTREMELY small. [Elderly people and those with vision problems should keep this in mind.] The scale consists of two main parts - the scale and the pan. The bowl is especially handy for weighing items that could spill. However, this creates a storage problem as the two parts are very different in size and shape. If the scales stayed on the counter, there's no problem; However, when storage is required, it can be difficult to find a fully suitable place for both items together. The lid is hinged and pops open, which can create countertop space issues, but at least you can be sure the lid won't get lost! If you keep this scale, keep it in the original packaging! One last question: the scale comes with two calibration weights. One weight was defective - the small plug that sealed the weight after final calibration came loose and the lead insert fell out of the larger weight. I was able to put the lead piece back in place, but the connector won't stay in place. Going through the return process is more than I would like, so I'll leave it at that; However, there are signs that production quality control is not doing its job at the highest level. I'm still giving this scale five stars, not only for the reasons above, but also because this is my third AWS scale and they've all proven to be the best fit for their intended purpose and fairly durable. AWS offers great scales at a reasonable price.
