Great travel backpack

Just used this bag for a 3 week trip to Scotland. I carried a Sony NEX 6 with two lenses and a pair of 10x42 binoculars in my fanny pack (along with accessories). The main backpack had plenty of room for jackets and lunch. There's room for an iPad in the hip pack, but I always keep mine in my main pocket. If you open most of it, you'll notice a velcro opening behind the mesh pocket. Open it up and you have enough space for an iPad and other flat items (I used to keep my travel maps and brochures in it). Much easier to access than a hip pack. I used tripod straps to tie down my raincoat for easy access. He was under a raincoat. I also found that when I needed to use my GPS (Garmin Montana) I could easily slide it between my hip pack and main pack behind my back on the leash. This made accessing it very easy. The hydration bladder is ok. Getting the bladder in and out is a little awkward, so I just filled it with a mug while leaving it in my bag. I like to keep it out of the way. On my other packs, ice water in the bladder can cause condensation on my gear. No problem if it goes to the side. The backpack is large compared to the capacity. The good thing is that the back of the strap is stiff and durable, serving as a complete system for carrying my gear. I don't have to put my camera/binoculars in other quilted bags and they always feel protected. The same applies to the main subject. Things in the bag are protected and don't need extra padding. On airplanes it fits (with difficulty) under the seat. Overall, I really liked this holdall. It was comfortable and very functional. I have some concerns that the single stitch used to attach the zippers to the top pockets may not last, but will update if this becomes an issue.
