This review relates to Atlantic 38435719 media cabinet Oskar for 464 CDs or 228 DVDs, colour: espresso. A few years ago I ordered some large (Oscar) drives from Atlantic. They understood each other without any problems and in a short time. I really like her. To date, they are strong and durable. As my video library grew, I needed more shelf space. My luck with other Atlantic modules made me feel confident ordering this slightly smaller memory module. It arrived with all parts and in good condition. I did the assembly according to the instructions, which is pretty skimpy. But I'm pretty good at building, so I figured it out and did most of it. As someone else said, when you build this device, it splits in half. top and bottom. The upper part lies on the lower part and is locked with 3 "CAM-LOCK" devices. It's basically 2 parts that fit together, then you use a screwdriver to turn the cam and connect both parts together. It locks in the same way the claw of a hammer slides and snaps under the head of a nail to lift the nail. The final step is to nail the heavy cardboard backing to the back of the device. You need to lay the device face down on the floor, place the back on the device, and then drive in small nails around the perimeter and in the middle. There is a big problem with this task. The bottom shelf protrudes about 1.5 inches. No other shelf has that. This acts as a stabilizing support to prevent the device from tipping forward. However, if you place the device face down on the floor, that extra 1.5 inches will prevent the device from lying flat on the floor. One end of the block is raised 1.5 inches off the ground. This means that most of the block does not touch the ground and is not supported. As I started nailing the back to the block she applied enough pressure in the center to break the 3 cam locks and the block halves came apart. The cam locks were broken and could not be reused. I made a temporary fix with some staples along the outside along the seams of the top and bottom halves. It seems strong enough, but I'll add flat staples at the seams and use wood screws. The shelves are good and seem to fit my needs. But the hardware they provide to assemble this device is very cheap and breaks with little pressure. And of course all wood is pressed board. This reduces costs but also reduces quality. Never get it wet and do not use in damp rooms. Pressboard turns into sawdust and falls apart. Good shelves but they need to come up with much better hardware to hold the block together.
