I've tried several different devices: Brite-View Air SyncHD - worked great for about 2 years but never got it seen switched off, it burned. Actiontec My Wireless TV - I liked the idea of adding other receivers and the GUI was really good, but it's a bit finicky and doesn't work with everything. my house and the receiver is downstairs, works fine and turns off depending on the signal coming from the tv with the receiver so it shouldn't burn out. IOGEAR has only one small problem: the HDMI* handshake delay is very high, which occurs when changing channels with a different resolution (e.g. from 1080 to 720), and channels with a resolution of 480 are not displayed at all . But there is a simple solution. Change your device (DVR) to only output 1080p or 1080i. This will sample other 720 and 480 channels, they look great on the receiver TV and now that everything is streaming in 1080 no more handshake = no more channel delay * HDMI handshake = exchange of encrypted keys between source/player and LCD and HDMI distribution devices. Each device has a unique set of keys that must be accepted by the display and source before video/audio can be displayed. HDMI handshake problems occur when the LCD or source does not accept keys from the HDMI distribution device.
