I haven't used my product yet. I'm in the process of painting with the shagreen method, which is why I ordered this product. After buying an $8 quart of chalk paint at a local department store, I went online on You Tube, consulted a professional artist, and discovered that I could mix calcium carbonate with latex paint to create a chalk-like aged look. This professional painter recommends calcium carbonate instead of plaster of paris for best results. She says it's not only better, it's a lot cheaper than buying chalk paint. Just take a look.
