Review on AeroCool Silent Master 200Mm Blue by Eduardo Purewal

I purchased the Corsair 600T Graphite case in 2011 and it still serves as my primary gaming case to this day. However, after nearly 10 years of faithful service, the front case fan burned out and I attempted to find an OEM replacement. After doing some research and contacting Corsair Support, I was informed that both the 600T Graphite and its case fans were discontinued. Armed with this knowledge, I began looking for replacements in the secondary market. You may think that there are many such fans, but you are wrong. The Corsair 600T Graphite case uses a custom fan configuration of 200mm x 200mm x 20mm instead of the already available 200mm x 200mm x 25mm and 200mm x 200mm x 30mm fan sizes. To make matters worse, the case fan of the 600T Graphite must not be thicker than 20 mm, since the hard drive bay does not allow thicker fans. The kit is very thin for fans with a 20mm thick case; I found exactly three companies that still make 200mm x 200mm x 20mm case fans: BitFenix, AeroCool, and Xigmatek. Kingwin also makes a fan, but it cannot be purchased in the US. I bought a 200mm x 200mm x 20mm BitFenix, AeroCool and Xigmatek case fan to do a little comparison and comparison between all three. After that, I decided on the fan, which I felt was the best solution for my needs. And while all three fans feature LEDs, that's where the similarities end, especially when it comes to raw performance. BitFenix was the worst ever. Airflow is anemic and there is virtually no static pressure. This feature is critical to me as I wanted a high static pressure fan to push air through the hard drive bay more efficiently. And since I use the positive air pressure kit in my gaming system, I needed a fan that could easily move a lot of air. Unfortunately, BitFenix is not such a fan. Xigmatek has the same specifications as AeroCool: CFM, dBA, RPM and static pressure values were the same. The only difference between the two fans was the color of the LEDs and the design of the fan blades and case. I ended up dropping Xigmatek because the mounting screw posts aren't full length; The standard 10mm case fan screws just aren't long enough. I chose AeroCool for several reasons. AeroCool performance is equivalent to standard Corsair 600T Graphite case fans (CFM, dBA, RPM and static pressure). I also found that the AeroCool fan blade geometry and fan frame design are exactly the same as the stock 600T fans. Additionally, the AeroCool mounting bolts are full length, just like the 600T Graphite. To be honest, the through mounting bolts on the AeroCool really drew me in at the end. AeroCool designed this fan to be used for both intake and exhaust by simply rotating the fan in the desired direction. Therefore, AeroCool uses full-length mounting screws to ensure that the fan can still be mounted with standard 10mm fan case screws on whichever side of the fan you use. On the other hand, BitFenix and Xigmatek use shortened screw mounting posts on their fans. . They are not full size. This means fans can only be oriented in one direction (like an exhaust fan) if you want to reuse the 10mm fan case screws. If you want to use BitFenix and Xigmatek fans as blower fans, you will need significantly longer case fan screws or visit your local hardware store. Finally, AeroCool is a direct OEM replacement for Corsair 600T Graphite case fans. . Not only is this AeroCool fan a perfect match for Corsair's OEM fans (they share the same unique fan blade geometry and fan frame design), it also shares the same performance specifications. I would like the AeroCool fan to use a black wiring harness instead of a silver one, but that's purely for aesthetic reasons. I have no problem recommending AeroCool for any direct replacement of 200mm x 200mm x 20mm case fan configurations. As I mentioned, the package is small for a fan of this size, and of the fans available, the AeroCool is simply the best. For reference, I've included comparison photos of the stock Corsair OEM fan and the AeroCool fan I replaced it with.
