Great for working from home, no more than that

It took me a while to get used to this laptop but after a few days of use I think I'm putting it to good use see for it: a great laptop for those who work from home with remote desktop software like me. And the main reason for that is that it's too weak itself to really do anything worthwhile. It took me several hours to set up Windows because the processor is so slow. Installing updates is a real pain, but once it was over, it wasn't bad. I'll spare you the details and give you the pros and cons: ********** UPGRADE ********** After using this for a while I've found that you even Upgrading to an M.2, you can't run it at full speed because I've maxed out the SATA II speeds. I ran Crystal Disk Mark tests on an SSD that was supposed to read about 500MB and write about 500MB when running in SATA III mode, but I was only able to get half of that number (280MB read/265MB Records). Also, I connected storage devices to a USB 3.0 port, but only got USB 2.0 speeds. When I went into Device Manager these USB ports were only listed as USB 2.0. I'm not sure if I have a bad laptop or what's going on, but I've tried contacting the company and got no response. ******** *** **PROF. It's very well built for a budget laptop. Robust and slim aluminum housing. WITHOUT FAN! This ensures very quiet operation and the notebook rarely gets hot. The keyboard is way better than I expected. The keys are very stable and work well no matter where you press the keys - the screen brightness isn't bad. I believe it's around 250 nits, which is great for indoors, not so much direct sunlight. Comes with a fully functional registered copy of Windows 10. Yes, it's in S mode, but it literally takes 5 seconds to disable S mode. If you want, which I HIGHLY recommend, if you want to install software, even something as generic as Chrome. You can easily upgrade storage with SATA m. SSD, and there's even a small bay for easy upgrades. For me alone, this raised that rating from 3 to 4 stars - excellent I/O: lots of USB ports and a microSD slot, and CONS - 4GB RAM. Not renewable. Why? Why? Why? I understand. This is a budget laptop but some people prefer to buy it cheaper and upgrade if possible but they didn't give us any RAM slots and 4GB is built into the motherboard. That's very disappointing. Just by running Chrome and 3 tabs I looked at my RAM usage and it was 96%. Does that really limit what this laptop can do - 64GB of eMMC storage? I bought a phone with lots of memory 10 years ago. I won't repeat this for too long as you can easily upgrade your storage with an m.2 SSD and it's a budget laptop. Processor: This Intel Celeron is slow. If you're the type who likes to sip a cup of coffee while you wait for the software to do tasks, this computer will have you browsing through coffee bags. The processor corresponds to a conventional processor from 15-20 years ago. It's so slow and only has 2 cores with no hyperthreading. If you don't know what that means, just trust me: it's unbearably slow. This is the main reason they are able to keep this laptop cool without a fan. It performs tasks so slowly that it doesn't even get hot. Yes, and games - if it's not minesweeper - in principle there can be no question. As I mentioned before, this would be a great laptop for someone like me who works from home using remote desktop software. He really is too weak to do anything worthwhile on his own. I use Splashtop for my remote work and once installed and connected I was able to work from home without too much trouble. If you're buying this for general tasks, just be aware that you won't be very good at multitasking, e.g. B. Listen to YouTube music while surfing the web or chatting on social media. It's pretty slow for today's tasks, but for the price and build quality of this laptop, it's not bad.
