My adoptive dogs haven't had any problems with hairballs since I got them. However, the female enjoys grooming her sibling's face and they both lick the bottom regularly. Sometimes the man has a choking cough (as if he has hair in his throat) and a small spoonful of Vedalax clears it up immediately. I am not interested in facing a medical emergency or maybe even surgery for a problem that is so easily preventable through maintenance. Both LOVE the malty flavor of Vedalax, making them easy to administer. The tube is small, but they get a little every time. I would recommend this to a friend with cats or dogs.
