At first I was concerned that these are plastic and not real konjac sponges, but they are real. At first they are hard as rocks, but when they get wet they become very soft like a washcloth. Also, after about a month they will start to break down and can be thrown in the compost or just buried in a pot to decompose. Less waste and better for the planet.
