I don't understand how they work but they work. The seller was VERY helpful. I've been inquiring about the best way to apply them so I can try to get the best results. I started my regular overnight skincare routine and then just patched up my laugh lines. I was afraid they wouldn't stick because my skincare routine is quite extensive. But I had no problem with the patches staying in place all night (I waited about 20 minutes for my skincare products to sink into my face before applying the patches). They didn't stir, itch or irritate my EXTREMELY sensitive skin. When I woke up and wanted to take them off, it was very easy to take them off. There was no sticky residue left and I was simply amazed at the results. The areas I patched (smile lines) literally looked like I used an anti-aliasing filter. It was crazy! The rest of the morning it was business as usual. I washed my face, used my usual skincare products, and put on makeup like I would any other day, and my smile(s) still looked like I had a filter on. The effect lasted all day. I mean, this isn't a product that resembles permanent plastic surgery, but if you need to "mask" lines and wrinkles for an event or just want to "mask" lines and wrinkles for whatever reason, this is the product for you. . . The only thing I noticed was when I took the band-aids off after putting them on all night, there was a small imprint where the band-aid had been. For example, you can see the shape of the patch after it has been removed. But it was gone after about an hour. I have EXTREMELY sensitive skin so this cannot happen with "normal" skin. And while the patches did leave a mark for a while, they weren't bothersome at all. I highly recommend it!
