Perfect for me!: Kitchen & Dining

I'm a Henckles fan so wasn't surprised to find this chef's knife more than adequate for my use. I cook every night and often cut up foods of any texture. This knife retains the sharpness of the blade, fits perfectly in a hand that is quite wide for a woman, and has a comfortable weight. I also like the 10 inch length which is no longer common. I'm glad I have a handle that will stand up to the use of a knife. My previous knife, bought in Germany in 1969, was made of Solingen steel, but the handle was made of wood. I only washed it by hand, but unfortunately the handle deteriorated beyond repair at the end. The blade is still fine despite trying it on a frozen bag of veggies! I won't do this again! It was expensive but this knife will be passed down to my grandchildren and is worth every penny
