I was looking for a more comfortable seat for my 35 pound Australian Shepherd instead of bulky bedding. He doesn't usually like dog beds and I was afraid it would be too big, but he really liked this one and didn't want to get off. He's a bit more comfortable to sit on and when he lies down he has to rest his head on his lip, but he seems comfortable, it doesn't seem to bother him at all and he probably would with an even bigger bed. I think he's probably the biggest dog that could use this. My only issue was the length of the straps. I have a fairly standard sized hatchback with split rear seats where one seat folds alone and the other folds down with the middle seat. Even when fully dressed, there was plenty of wiggle room when trying to fit it in just one seat. My passenger seat is a bit thicker so it barely fits in and still needs to be pulled all the way down. It barely fit around most bench seats and had to be completely detached. The strap around the headrest fits, but still has some slack when fully tightened. We got it working and love it now, but ran into some issues installing it. I use a bed seat belt to keep it in the seat, but it is also recommended to use a seat that attaches to the seat belt buckle with this or any other car seat for safety.
