Danco 86971 Delta Faucet Repair Kit leaking like crazy

I installed this ball in my shower valve. I dare say the shower valve hasn't been changed in at least ten years. It turned out that the water continued to flow when the shower ball was blocked towards the hot water position. Lift it to the middle or from the side of the cold water, then it will stop the water. So while it could work, it would be very annoying to deal with long-term. I ended up not using it and left the original.
