Review on 🧡 White Brother Refurbished Computerized Sewing Machine with 100 Stitches by Nicole Mcleod

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Misaligned and defective when shipped

You get what you pay for. I didn't want to spend thousands on a new machine after my previous version broke after 5 years of intensive use. With the exception of the internal metal casing, the entire machine is made from the cheapest and cheapest plastic Brother can find, so it won't last long. Unlike sewing machines, these machines are not durable. Anyway, I ordered this refurbished one expecting it to be tested to make sure everything works and is in good working order. The part holding the needle is too close to the metal plate it's supposed to penetrate, so it hits it and makes a metal-on-metal noise every time it moves up and down. I would return it but my husband who is a bit of a mechanic was able to move it around so it wouldn't be a big deal. There's a white sticker on the "tamper evident" screw that he says probably has to come out to actually move the thing back. But he didn't want to void the warranty if I decide to return it. I do not know. It works for now but I'm sure it will wear out like my last one because the flimsy plastic parts just won't hold up. They wear out from the movement and friction of the thread, and eventually it stops picking up the bobbin thread, or something else happens and it becomes just another disposable sewing machine. I'll go with a more durable brand next time but I need to do some research first so thought I'll use that for now.
