Review on Cucunu Wooden Outdoor Side Table With Extra Storage: Perfect For Garden, Porch Or Living Room by Mdl Thurston

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Nice table-solid wood

I have purchase several of these, and like the solid wood construction, and they look nice as well. This particular one has rounded corners, and was a bit tougher to assemble, as the hardware is hidden on the top shelf. I got these at 50 bucks a pop, (bought two this time) and feel there are a tremendous value at this price. These are made from Acacia trees, that are only found in Africa and Australia. God commands Moses and the children of Israel to make basically everything for the Tabernancle and the Ark of the Covenant from acacia wood. Some items were overlayed with pure gold but everything except the golden lampstand had acacia wood at the core. So why acacia ?Acacia (atzei shittim in Hebrew) was the only tree that grew in the desert in abundanceand was more bush-like than tree-like.Acacia wood is dense, thorny, the grain of the wood is gnarly and changes direction. It is resistant to decay, and happens to be unpalatable to insects making an ideal material for building items that would need to be durable and lasting, such as a Tabernacle that would be mobile, constantly being constructed, taken down and transported as the Israelites sojourned in the desert. The construction process was tricky as the wood could shatter if the tools used by the craftsmen were not kept sharp.

Pros
  • The table does not require any special care and is weatherproof, but it is advised to use standard caring oil for solid wood in order to keep the original color and to prevent it from drying and cracking
Cons
  • The design may not be very versatile and may only be suitable for certain settings.
